VERY INTERESTING - - - I love this thread for ideas . . . . .

I have an alzhiemers parent who mowed my blackberry patch and weed wacked a blueberry plant. This might be a good idea for stopping my parent from killing my plants.

Great pics Coyote. I need to get pics of our garden today sometime. We havea already gotten about 3 lbs of Strawberries and the beans are at the point of blooming. And as of right now I have 2 turkey poults and one chick flying in the room behind me. These

have to get outside sooooooooon. LOL

we finally got our gardend tilled and worked in some old sheep/cow manure in to it. Will probably start planting it tonight... although it got into the 20's lastnight....... brrrr!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE mullberries. They are impossible to kill. We have a 50 year old MALE mulberry tree in the yard that the previous owners just cut down and chest height. It didn't work, so now wer have a broccoli tree! (previously an artichoke tree)

You can see it in the back

Unfortunately, it is illegal to plant female mulberries here now, so you can't buy them anywhere...wanna send me a small girl-tree?

Aren't they the most wonderful things??!! Just pure sweetnes!

Really? I know you can't import them into Calif. But then again, you can't bring anything for Calif into AZ. They are stricter on that than Illegal Aliens, lol. I got mine from Gurney's mail order. It only took them until their 2nd year to start bearing fruit.

I stil have to add a bunch more plants and seed, we can farm up into mid to late Nov. Before Winter really hits.

Some of my best summer memories are climbing up on the neighbor's roof & onto their mulberry tree because it overhung our laundry line

You can't have girl-trees here because of the pollen.

We planted anywhere from a month to two weeks ago. We usually are very uniform about our acre garden but this year it was pretty much row of this row of that and then at the end of the garden we threw in a bunch of extra seeds lol. Its pretty crazy there. There is corn and pretty much everything we planted everywhere else. We planted the following:

cabbage
collards
squash
bush beans
watermelon
cantalope
cucumber
peaches and crem corn
tomatoes
onion

and we arent sure but I think we have some peppers growing in our free for all portion of the garden lol. My lovely grandfather played the OOPS card and plowed the darn green peppers up on accident because the grass there was higher than the peppers LOL
