Plastic sheeting for brooder floor?

Not that great of a pic, but, they are a week old.

I understand. I plan on making a pulley system to raise and lower, both the pen and the eventual top that will be placed on it.

Last year I lined a kiddie pool with a cheap shower curtain (tarp would’ve worked, too) and filled with large pine shavings. When the chicks got it too messy I’d shift them to the other kiddie pool, ball up the plastic with the shavings, and dump it on the compost pile. Rinse plastic and repeat. Seemed to work well, except the compost pile was a little far 😅

Really nice size brooder and gives them plenty of ventilation and cooler spots away from heat. I've never had chicks tiny enough that I would think of chicken wire being an issue, but then again mine stay in the brooder (1/2" welded wire) for the first week or so, so I never thought to compare how they'd match up against chicken wire.

Thanks.. It's a little over 16 sq ft, but tall enough to keep the grandkids out of IT!

The chicks were a surprise from my daughter in law, so I needed to do something quick.
