Playhouse at Walmart...possible convert?

Good Morning! New here! I saw this playhouse on sale at Walmart for $250. Thought it might make a good conversion into a coop. We've already started building ours, otherwise I might have gone this route. My 6 Brahmas are due in a couple of weeks! Hope the link works...

I saw the actual play house at our store. I loved it! - but it is not very big it could maybe house two chickens at best IMO.

I looked at the exact same one at Sam's Club thinking the same thing...but, I found a Leonard Building on Craigslist that was bigger and sturdier for the same price , so I went with that. I think that one should work just fine with a little modification...

It would be adorable. I think a person with some imagination could just about make anything work as a coop. I've thought about getting one of those for my bantys since they can't run with my big girls.

That would make a great coop for a few chicks. We're in the city and I build a coop disguised as a playhouse/coop. Wish I would've seen that. Probably would've converted it into the coop. Easier and cheaper.

I thought breathing in cedar fumes was bad for chickies??

If you are only going to have a few chickens that would make a cute coop.....would make a great rooster coop. I may look into this as well.

By the way, WELCOME TO BYC! Cute house, trying to figure out an excuse to get one. Most construction cedar is not the aromatic cedar you have to worry about. Guess I would have to check that out.
