Then leave him alone and hopefully infection doesn't set in. A Vet is really your only option.

That's excellent news! Hopefully the rest of his penis is nice and healthy and isn't infected. Keep a very close eye on him for a couple of weeks, and if you can, get a baseline weight on him then weigh every 2-3 days. If he starts losing weight, it could be because it's infected.

Good advice, I think that is what I would do.

How do I weigh him? Hes acting fine. I actually looked for the part that fell off so I could get rid of it.
I'll definitely keep my eye on him!

When I weigh my adult ducks I get on the scale get my weight then get on the scale with my duck subtract the 2 weights and that will give you your ducks weight.

@chickens really have you dealt with necrotic prolapse? I can't remember who has.

Yes.. although I'm not saying to do surgery yourself.
I did correct my Drake myself but I'm not comfortable encouraging surgery because I'm not a Vet.

Some feel comfortable explaining to others the way they have done it with success. I would trust a few experienced with helping me if I ever needed it. Not everyone has access to a vet that will work on a duck or has finances to do it.

I had a duck with a prolapsed dinger. It wasn’t as swollen, but it was hard and black from being out so long. I rescued him that way. Anyways, I put manuka honey on it....was told it could just be neosporin from a vet tech friend..anyways... I had him rest in a cage. after the honey softened it up for a long time, I had to massage it back in to place. It regained its color. He made a full recovery...if something like this should ever happen again...hopefully not...you might want to try that before cutting anything...I’m glad your duckie is doing better!!
