Please help! Do I need to put coconut oil on pip?

On Day 18, I thought that I'd just leave the turner in to protect the chicks that haven't hatched from the ones that have. The more I think about it, I feel like I should probably remove it. I would hate for legs to be injured or worse. The stress begins....... I'm shaking a bit

Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the chicks (like I said I would) last night. I was trying to get everything done as quickly as possible since my daughter is back in school. We'll, not actually "in" school but I needed to get her ready for bed asap and look over everything she worked on yesterday and make sure she knew how to turn everything in, etc. She's doing the virtual school. She meets with her class every morning at 9am on Google Meet. That's not super early but I want her to get up early enough to be able to get ready, eat breakfast, and go over everything before the morning meeting. Today was the second day, but it's an adjustment keeping up with time and getting her into bed by a certain time. I plan on getting pictures today, I promise

One of the Swedish Black's has externally pipped. I'm trying to get the humidity up and having trouble. Going to try another Sponge. I did heat the water I'm adding for faster results. I'm not sure when it pipped because it's on the narrow end. Everything has went as planned with these egg. Stopped turning on Day 17, but I still have a pip on the wrong end. Now I'm worried about it shrink wrapping the chick. Today is Day 20

The schooling sounds like it will take some getting used to. I hope it works out good though.

Yeah, it looks dry. Its ok. This happens all the time. Most people have lived and can't just watch the incubator all day, lol. I am a big fan of the misting thing. Open the incubator and mist everything with warm/hot water. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but are you using filtered water? Tap water has too much salt in it. It actually dries out faster and can corrode the heating element.

I'm using purified Bottled Water. Is that ok? It's between that and tap water (I have well water) for now, unfortunately. I have been using this purified Bottled water

Just breathe. Keep a cool head, and think about each decision before you make it. They're going to be just fine. You've done an awesome job getting them to this point so far.
Just open the incubator, mist everything, and remove the turner. Then you're good.
They will have to be misted every hour and a half or so until the first chick hatches to keep humidity up. Just open the incubator to mist. It won't shrinkwrap them since you're opening it to add humidity. It will fall a bit, and then climb back up really fast. Make sure the water is wuite warm each time so you don't chill them. You can do it.

Thank you. You're amazing at this. I really appreciate you. I'm heating more of this water to mist them. There are 2 other eggs in the incubator that I'm not sure if they're viable or not. I figured it'd be better to leave them and be wrong, than to toss them. I've noticed the one SBH that's externally pipped, and the LA has been moving all over the place. I wasn't sure about the LA because the air cell is absolutely crazy and huge. I made sure that it ended up resting with the air cell up. I believe the Isbar also moved a tiny bit.

Yes, best to leave them and give them a shot then pull them and be wrong. I hope they all hatch.

My hydrometer was reading 72% in the salt water test. Forgive me but I am flustered at the moment. What should I be aiming for it read during hatching?
