please help goose attacked by dog

Please make sure your pond is snapping turtle free! I've lost an adult goose to a very large turtle this summer. It was horrible. I heard my geese making a fuss down at our pond so I ran down to see what was going on. I found it latched onto one of my girls. The turtle got her right at her thigh and tore a chunk right out. I could see her thigh bone. I called the local vet thinking I could rush her in only to be told they wouldn't take a goose. I was in tears.. I begged them she was bleeding to death but was still told no. So instead I held my baby until she took her last breath. Heart breaking.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I've had vet problems way too many times, and once I found a vet they didn't do their job, told me my goose would be fine, he died that day.

That had to have been horrible so very sorry for your loss.

We try and tell members every year to make sure there are no snapping turtles in their ponds Hopefully your post will help bring it home.
