Please help identify what I bought.

Long story short (my compuer shut off mid-typing on this) my dog scared a Mallard, we have 2 of her ducklings, she has been gone for 24 hours with her other dozen babies.

I went to TSC and bought what they had labeled as Mallards but I am doubting what I was told. Can you tell me if I have mutant mallards or what I have?

I have 2 of the black ones and they have a slight tinge in the light of yellow to their feathers. I don't really care what they are, just curious. Actually in this last picture you can see the 2 black ones together with one looking all black and the other in the light showing the yellow.

I don't know what type they are but I can only say that it seems that the employees at TSC never know what they have so don't be surprised if they are not what you were told.

Supposedly all TSC got were Mallards which is why I am obviously confused. We also have 3 Indian Runners so my husband should be thrilled tonight LOL

Runners stand up tall like a penguin so if you have any that look more penguin than duck that would be those. I wish I could help ya out more. Hopefully someone else more knowledgeable than myself will pop in soon. The ones with raccoon eyes are probably mallard or rouen(sp?) The darker ones I don't know.

I know what the Runners are (not in the picture). I am wondering what the ones with the black blaze and the all black are. Sorry I wasn't more specific.

The ones with the black stripes on their eyes I am almost certain are mallard or rouens. It's the really dark colored ones that are throwing me off.

all black could be Cayugas...mine looked like that when they were itty bitty cuties- like yours!

The brown ones are Khaki Campbells! By the way! and the ones that are maily black with some yellow stripes are Mallard/Rouen. I dont know the white with Black stripes?

This is just a shot in the dark as I am new at this, but those ones with the blaze...my first thought was Silver Appleyard as it was one of the breeds I was looking at and I remember my son calling them 'mohawk' ducks. If I remember correctly they look an awful lot like Mallard, Rouen in coloring so maybe they could be just a different pattern mallard. As for the dark ones, the coloring looks like chocolate runner but you've already said due to carriage you know it's not runner. Not sure what other ducks have chocolate coloring...my cayugas kinda looked like that in the light too but not to the same extent. GL! I'm interested to see what they are.
