The area did look as if she had been pecking at it though it did not feel warm to the touch. Will check her for mites/lice, would mites/lice cause a large lump?

Is it an actual lump or is the skin swollen due to irritation? Try cleaning and applying an antibiotic ointment,see if you notice any difference.

Are roosts treated with anything,meaning paint/stain,etc?
Has she been laying? Is she eating/drinking and is her poop normal looking?
