All I can do is learn to cope with it, I used to always count my chicks now it was always 14 now when I count it’s 13 and it breaks my heart somehow it’s constantly playing all over again in my mind but I’ll get through it hopefully

You will, especially as you watch the antics of the rest of your brood! And if you get them all to adulthood (which at this point is HIGHLY likely!,) then raising 13 out of 14 are a lot better odds than many of us ended up with on our first go-round ... myself included!

When I buried him I found a rock and I brought it near his/her grave and wrote the name, the marker I had wasn’t so great but I’ll buy one and curb it in, still heart broken that my baby is gone bet my other 13 chicks who are healthy and growing up will notice that their pal is gone but least he’s in a better place, where he can get plenty of water food and sunlight, I’ll miss spotty with my whole family, he was the unique chick in our flock, Rip spotty I’ll miss you buddy, and for those who push people further you shouldn’t
there’s enough negativity going around the world we don’t need it from you, just because there’s people who abuse animals don’t think everyone else is the same, when I laid my chick to rest
I taught to myself how does human sleep with themselves knowing they kill living human beings in the planet, it’s just a sad world

We lost our best hen, this week. Our best broody, our family favorite, our pet. This may sound silly to some, but if your baby needs a mama, I'm sure our Pepper needs someone to mother ... and they'll find each other on the bridge.

I think you probably broke it's neck or at the least somehow pinched it's nerves.... why didn't you wait a little longer?

It was becoming weaker and weaker, it stopped drinking water and eating so I decided the best thing I can is put spotty down instead of waiting for a miracle which 9/10 won’t happen, specially to me, letting it die on its own would be more painful

I’m so sorry for your loss, indeed spotty would require
someone as a mom, I could picture them walking the paradise bridge together, may both rest in paradise

Many people reading this would never understand how much a pet can affect us and get close to us like a family member and losing them would be heart breaking experience, therefore they can laugh all they want but the day they get a pet

Your right there are many that won't understand till it happens to them. There will always be those in our lives, who will say "you should have done this or that, or you were wrong or you were this or that" these opinions do not count in the grand scheme of things, You've shown bravery in asking for help, you've shown compassion in doing what you knew to be best. Hold your head high and play with the others and enjoy their company..
