Please help me!!! my hen is lethargic with undigested grains and yellow urates in poop

Maybe @Nambroth can explain this better than I can... Metronidazole will only work on certain types of bacteria, the others I mentioned will treat bacteria like e.coli, which is a very real possibility, especially if your hen has blackhead. Metronidazole is *not* a broad-spectrum antibiotic, the others are. FWIW, vets have told me to use Baytril with metronidazole, so I know that combo is okay. Cipro is in the same family as Baytril, so that's probably okay, too.

This is my understanding as well. According to my (experienced avian) vet, Baytril may be used effectively with Metronidazole/Flagyl. A full course of antibiotics is recommended when using Baytril, from my understanding, and generally should be given no less than 5 days consecutively (7 is ideal, 14 days for more severe problems).
As always, if advised otherwise by a vet, take their advice over mine, because I am NOT a vet.

Just so we're clear, I'm not suggesting that you stop flagyl (metronidazole), I might even suggest giving it twice a day.
Today and yesterday I gave her 1/2 pill each day(250mg is the dosage on 1 pill). You suggest me that I should give her 1 pill / day? Eventualy I will increase the dosaje after a few day

I don't know what types of drugs were, Kathy. But I think if that could be a fungal infection, Flagyl can be useful on it too, because I used it too for candida.
Flagyl is not used to treat yeast, it's used to treat trichomoniasis and bacterial vanginosis... call your Dr or Pharmacist, they can explain it better than I can.

The bird dose recommended in Plumb's veterinary drug handbook says "10-50 mg/kg PO q12". My vets told me to give 30mg/kg once for 5 days, but that was for blackhead. Other people I know on BYC have been told by their vets to give 60mg/kg twice a day for 5 days and one person was told to give it for two weeks.

I am not a vet, lol, so do your research and treat according to what you're comfortable with. This link has more dosing info:

my doctor recomended me Flagyl for bucal candidiosis a few years ago. So how you think I shoul continue the treatment? with only 1/2 pill of 250 mg Flagyl/ day for at least 1 week? even if she took treatment with antibiotics before
