Please help me with my duckling!

I found a thread with similar things to Little Bit, we’ve never had ducklings before though so we don’t really know how to go about poking it if that is what it ends up being. Does it hurt them? Should I massage the area first to be sure? If there is anyone you know that’s dear with this that would be willing to chat with me I’d really appreciate it.
Are you doing chick grit for them?
If not they could have something stuck in the crop that they can’t break up small enough.

if you are I would wait for @casportpony to pop back in as they are extremely knowledgeable before trying any poking.

No grit yet, the people at TSC who gave us Little Bit gave us some things and grit was not one of them. Little bit was originally having trouble swallowing her/his food when we first brought him home so I turned it into mash.

Little Bit might have a small piece of cucumber stuck in the crop that it can’t break up then. They need grit to break up anything not their chick feed. And veggies can take effort to break up.

Do you have an area around where you live that might have sandy like ground with very small pebbles? We are talking like smaller than a pencil head, that you might be able to scoop up until you can either order some from tsc (mine has curb side pick up) or have someone get you some?

@Collinska

Is there any way you can take the duckling to a vet? Its's very hard for us to diagnose your bird over the internet, some problems are easier to diagnose than others, yours is hard since we cant physically examine you bird and the symptoms aren't something we see every day. If you cant see a vet we will try our best to help though. I just wanted to bring up the best possible option before we continue.

We are trying. Sadly, there are no avian vets in my area. We have found a vet who does farm animals and are planning on going as soon as we can. They’re closed at the moment but we will continue to try over and over and hope he can take birds.
Thank you all so much for your help by the way. It means so much to me to have a community of people come together to help someone (and a duckling) they don’t even know.
