I have a couple of ducks ,they're a little over a year old and my female duck is acting weird ,she stopped eating for 3 days today ,i hope it wasn't more , I tried to hand feed her tomatoes she got up and left ,she's barely drinking water and stopped swimming ,which she loves and it's summer so I'm really confused and scared.
I read about egg bound ducks ,i put her in the tub with some warm water and checked but couldn't feel anything . Also she vomited a little water on the way to her bath.
She was trembling in the water and her breath smelled rancid .
Also I think she isn't pooping, the only time I saw her do it ,was after the little soak I gave her and it was watery and yellowish ,i don't know if it's because of the lack of food or something else ,she last laid eggs about 2 weeks ago .
I appreciate your help in advance ,there's no veterinary around so I'm helpless at the moment.

If your in the US go to TSC and get Liquid Calcium gluconate if she has an egg or eggs and can't lay this product can help her. Being egg-bound is very serious and not eating for 3 days or more is very serious too. You'll need to give her 1 ml daily until she lays. Get a 1 ml syringe no needled necessary.

This could be something besides egg bound but since we aren't vets we have to eliminate it till we figure out what is going on.
Egg-laying problems is at the top or close to the top with ducks.
What breed is your duck?

If you can get her to drink try making up a soup out of her feed just a small amount to start sometimes when they are off their feed we can get them to eat it soupy if they can drink.

Thank you for answering .
I'm not in the US, but It's available, I just hope they'll give it without a prescription.
If she isn't egg bound ,would it harm her ?
I'm not sure what her breed is called , but this is a picture from last year .
I'm freaking out ,I really love them and I just lost my cat , i don't know what i would do if she dies

She's a Muscovy.
Yes being egg-bound is very serious so if you can get the calcium gluconate asap that would be good. In the meantime if you have any other type of calcium?
I lost a Muscovy from being egg-bound about 11 yrs ago being a new duck owner I didn't know how to help her, now I keep calcium Gluconate on hand always. Soaking in warm water can help them relax and possibly lay too.
The calcium gluconate will not harm her if she isn't egg-bound.
Is there anything around where you live that she may have eaten that is toxic like plants bugs stagnant water?

I have dicalcium malate pills ,would they work?
They're in our garden so plants are all around ,I'm trying to see if there's new ones I haven't noticed that may be poisonous .
There's flies and the occasional cockroach , but binded find some drowned either wasps or hornets, I can't differentiate the two .
I always scrub their tub ,this time I found some algae on the sides , she likes to put her food in it , I found watermelon rinds this time .
The drake isn't sick , and I could be wrong but maybe it is something from the water cause my boy does NOT like to swim .

Yes can you give her one? Just so we can rule out egg binding?

If in pill form if you want you can crush a pill and put it over a small treat but if she isn’t eating she might not eat enough get it into her system.
Is she having any trouble holding her head up?
How does her poop look?
Hi miss Lydia, I did as you told me and today is the third day on calcium ,but I don't think that's her issue .
She seems absolutely fine walking sitting ,not having trouble holding her head up ,just not eating , swimming and not her happy self .
Her poop was yellow and watery but from yesterday it was greenish and less watery .
Could the heat be the cause ? we're going through a heat wave hitting 114 degrees and more

Sounds like a possible crop condition.. slow, sour, or impacted..

This needs further investigation.. this link is for chickens but should give you the idea of what you're looking for..

Thank you for the link , I've been feeding her and massaging her neck so she swallows ,but I didn't feel anything out of the ordinary

How does her breathe smell that is your first indication there is a crop problem. Also check her crop in the evening so that in the morning you can compare. Is it full in the evening and empty in the morning/ if so then most likely it isn't a crop problem.
