Muscovy hen. Photo attached. Age is unknown, seems in good health aside from the protrusion. I’ve read the other threads, but hers looks different than any photos I’m finding.
I noticed one of the duck eggs had a little blood on it a few days ago but didn’t think much of it, since the chickens occasionally do that when they’re young and I don’t know my my muscovys ages (all adopted).
Today I noticed what I though was poop stuck to her backside, so when she was in her pool I attempted to remove it and realized it was her vent with crustpoop/scab around the edges.
I’ve never delt with any kind of prolapse before, but I’m guessing it is a rectal prolapse? or something else entirely?
Nothing seems to be hanging out. She still poops and lays.
When I try to clean it she seems in pain. I’ve been applying Green Goo to it to keep it moist.
Not sure what else to do? Or is this only vet visit fixable?
