Please Help my bird

I'm pretty sure, as we were rinsing his feathers large flies would periodically fly out...we were almost done after 10 minutes & another one flew out, gross! They looked like small grains of rice as opposed to the rounder ones in that pic.

Lol, and where they squishy?

No they weren't, yet...also they are squishy. I'm guessing today has probably been the first day it's gave off enough smell to attract the flies since I know their eggs hath pretty quick.

I would think that if there is no wound they can't hurt him, but it would be better to get rid of as many as possible, I imagine.

Hey guys, do you think she could cut off/trim some of the feathers to help get rid of the eggs, if necessary?
Is there a risk of cutting a blood feather?

Glad you mentioned this! I didn't even think of that, I was ready to chop them all off in the morning...

I'd probably get as many off as possible and put some poultry dust or 5% Sevin powder on him, especially in that area. I know for a fact that the dust will kill maggots (don't ask, lol
