PLEASE HELP my parents used calcium hydroxide on my chickens to treat lices

How many birds? Oh my gosh, this is horrible and hopefully not tragic. Let me know how it goes.

Also spray them off once you get them out of the water, the particles become suspended in the water. Be careful!

A great number of people don't realize how harmful calcium hydroxide is. Even the parents have a risk of being chemically burned, so they need to take the same precautions.

Quick lesson in "cross contamination". If it has it on it, and you touch it, then touch something else ... then it too becomes contaminated.

So where it was applied to the chickens needs to be washed down too. Or, they will get re-exposed again and the same terrible possibilities can take place.

Lime reacts with water so make sure you get it all off their skin and don't let them walk on it.

My parents put it in the grass

Wash the grass down ..... a lot. It will literally cause a chemical burn. Bad stuff when not used properly.
