The gunk could be from where you increased the humidity for a few days for the chickens. He could be really sticky, like glue, but that will come off. Check his belly and feet.

there is gunk by his feet, if that is what you mean.
No I just meant check his belly and feet for anything out of the ordinary. Open area on the belly, or curled feet.
