Yeah so just keep an eye on her and try not to worry. No another chicken is in there![]()
Yes she has eaten as of what I've seen not alpt but enough. Her tail is up when she walks. Her abdomen is swollen but the belly seems normal. She was born sometime at the beginning of the year got her as a pullet. Should I put her back in the cage?I would keep her separated, since she has not pooped all night and day. Has she eaten much today, since her crop is full? I also would check her crop early morning before she has eaten or drunk anything. Is her tail position up most of the time when she is walking around? I saw it up in one video and down in another. Most hens will lay an egg just as they are going broody. She doesn’t act broody to me so far. I would get her out and walking just to see if she poops. Also offer water and a bit of food. Her lower belly looks enlarged in your picture. Does it seem that way compared to your other chickens? A swollen abdomen can be from water belly or internal laying. How old is she? I would stir the bedding and add more if needed, since there is a lot of poop in there.
I had to leave but another family member at the house is putting her in the cage. I'll have him walk her. What do you think it is?I would walk her around, and when you have to leave, isolate her because you need to know if she poops or not, and if she lays an egg. Egg bound hens cannot poop. Once she goes, then you could release her. Still check her crop in the morning to make sure it has emptied.
How many days was she caged? She just came back from the fair
September 8th -11th. Do you think she could be sick? She hasn't pooped yet.How many days was she caged?
Personally, I would let her out, let her move around with the others. Check her crop first thing in the morning and see if it's empty.
If she's been caged for days, then she's been conditioned to be in a cage - laying about.
Let her roam and see how it goes. I see nothing concerning really except that her crop is fullish - but in one video she's drinking a lot of water - just make sure that crop is empty by morning.
