The Virkon S describes itself as a “Disinfectant and Virucide” whereas this stuff calls itself a “Disinfectant Virucide Fungucide Cleaner” so is it ok to use?

I'm having trouble finding this one on Virkon's website.
I can find Virkon S and unless I am missing it I am not seeing where it claims to kill Marek's disease. (I may have missed a few posts in this thread or misread them but I thought Virkon S was mentioned to use for this reason )

Yes. It is a virucide which is what you need to kill the Herpes virus that causes Marek's and it specifies on the package that it can be used in poultry houses, so you are good to go. Not sure why the "S" has been dropped from the name but it is now made by a new manufacturer, so maybe it was all part of some rebranding.

Active ingredient is slightly different.

It may not claim to kill it, but it said that it has “powerful, proven performance over 500 strains of viruses” so may just not have mentioned that it kills Mareks...?

Ok great to know! I will be doing it tomorrow. It said that one packet can be added to 5 litres of water, so I’ll do that and then put it into a sprayer.

Well since we only have one layer so far (they are still 20-22 weeks old) so they are given 18% grower with offered oyster shell on the side
I recommend Purina Layena Oyster strong it is a wonderful product, I feed my hens with it and they lay eggs 6 days a week, the yolk is yellow rich, I love it.
