I hope that your hen makes it through...
Even if her crop STAYS distended you can buy a crop bra which helps to keep things where they belong...like a real bra...

Thank you all for your support. I also found the info on Mama Red and that helped us to make our decision. I will examine the contents of her crop, good suggestion. Hopefully it was just a fluke thing she ate, although xrays didn't show anything suspicious. She goes in for surgery this morning. I am very hopeful that she will pull through just fine. I'll let y'all know.
