Im sorry if I am being defensive... Especially to Redhen.
She said nothing that should have offended me, and I blew the post out of proportion.
I had no right to say any of that as I have never even met her.

Maybe its the lack of sleep, because I have been so nervous preparing myself for the worst.

I also realize that lack of sleep was no excuse for an outburst like that.

I dont want people to sugar coat things, I just dont like people judging me that I have never even met.

The way you type doesnt determine the type of person you are...

Again I am sorry if I offended anyone, and my apologies.

I would like to hear your stories and opinions, and if I have another outburst I will ask the Moderator to kick me off of the forum, just so I dont find myself starting an arguement.

Nebraska lets you get a school permit when you are 14 yrs. old and 2 months. (The two months is School LEARNERS permit.)

Hey Josh!

From what you've typed, the worst isn't sooooo bad, right? The fees are not horrible....you won't go to jail.....you will get your license....

I don't have kids (and would have been a horrid Mom), but, IF you were my kid, I would tell you to really examine the worst case scenario and realize that it's something you can deal with and if you can deal with that, you can certainly deal with ANYTHING that's better, right?

You gotta sleep and learn to relax or you'll drive yourself totally nuts. No matter what happens, all will be FINE!

Nancy

Like I said, from my experience (there is some lol) you'll be facing fines and won't be driving for a while. It's still traffic court. There's only so much they can do. I hate having stuff hanging over my head like that too, but it's not worth making yourself sick over. At this point there's nothing you can do so try to put it out of your mind. Easier said than done, I know... but try anyway!

Through a mistake sent in a PM, the truth has come out.

Silkiecrazy1212 is actually chickenwhisperer123. (I am both Josh and Jason.)

This is very embarassing on my part.

Now is time for truth..

The reason I didnt post as chickenwhisperer123 is because I was afraid I would get judged, so I created Silkiecrazy1212.
(Guess that shows my self confidence level.)

Please forgive me everyone as I really wish to keep posting on this forum as chickenwhisperer123. Silkiecrazy is a fake, and is gone now.

Jason (NOT Josh)

preppy*hippie*chick :

I also notice that you've been editing your opening post and as Ruth said, you're getting defensive. Just because someone doesn't tell you what you want to hear, that doesn't make them a "jerk". Perhaps you "just knew someone would be a jerk" because you know you're in the wrong here. You posted this asking for opinions - would you rather everyone sugar coat?

I think this behavior is pretty typical of someone your age and on a personal note, don't think anyone should get a full licence til they're 18.

I don't think this is a huge deal as far as having an adverse effect on your future, but you hopefully have learned that when driving, a few seconds can erase your future and maybe someone else's too.

I have only been editing the title on my opening post.

preppy*hippie*chick :

Just wondering... if you were on a gravel road, wouldn't you only be going 15 mph or so? It doesn't seem like you should have been going fast enough to wreck, much less total your truck. I try to miss deer too, but while I'm swerving I'm also hitting the brakes - hard!!! It seems like you must have been going awfully fast for this to have happened on gravel & maybe that's where the reckless driving is coming in.

I would not get an attorney. Doesn't go well with "humble & taking responsibility" bit. I still think the biggest part of your punishment will be not driving for a while. Good luck.

On the country roads around Malcolm Nebraska the speed limit is 50 MPH. (I was only going 40, as it was only about a quarter mile from a stop sign.)

preppy*hippie*chick :

I live on a gravel road. I don't see how anyone could go nearly that fast without wrecking.

The last time I saw your opening post you had deleted your age from it.

I didnt delete my age actually.
I think the moderator did, as I guess that is private information.
(Must not have realized that my age was mentioned elsewhere in the thread.)
