CW I hope all goes well for you. You are showing a lot of maturity in owning up to your mistakes and also paying your fines and higher insurance. Gosh knows we all made our share of mistakes when we were younger (and some not so young!

I remember when I was 16 I was hit by a drunk driver and almost killed because I wasn't wearing my seatbelt. I put my face through the windshield and had a lot of injuries. My car was a NICE used car I had for about 5 months. My dad got me another pretty nice used car. Not as nice, but reliable and decent looking. 3 mths later I was driving where I shouldn't have been, at night, in the rain. I lost control and hit a guardrail. Thankfully had my seatbelt on - learned my lesson. NEVER did I not want to call my dad so much in my life. LOL! He had to come over an hour away, in the rain, in the middle of the night with the flat bed to get me.
Can we say mad??
Soooo, my next car was a OLD chevy citation hatch back that when I drove to work I had to wear a towel on my lap because when you went over the speed bumps the rust would fall out of the ceiling.... I couldn't kill that car to save my life. Finally gave it to my brother a couple of years later when I bought a new truck. Knock on wood have never been in another accident (or got a ticket) and this has been 19 yrs now.
It will be ok, and one day this will be a distant memory!
I would have swerved to miss a deer too.....
