Please help!!!!Wood Ducks!!

I am looking for some wood ducks for my pond!!! Does anyone know where i can find some breeding pairs and not spend a fortune??? I live in Fayetteville NC and love to find some locally!!

Hey there,

I don't know of anywhere specifically, however, there is a Flock-Swap that happens in Fayetteville occasionally and most of the locals selling ducks use Craigslist. I am in Sanford.

I suspect they won't stay on your pond for very long. They aren't like domestic ducks.

Do have wild wood ducks in your area at all? If so, you could maybe put certain plants and nest boxes around your pond to attract them. And, you can enjoy them without a big feed bill.

If on an open pond, need to be pinioned to keep them there.
