Please Help! Worried! Peking Duck brooding behavior advice

Oh no, I’m so sorry.

With only one left, I agree, just leave it until she discards it. If you take it, it could upset her more. If she disposes of it on her own, she will know it’s over. :(

On the bright side, they do usually move on quickly and get over it.
The other option is to look for some local ducklings to give her.

It is sad. Once she discards the last egg, what do I do? Break up the nest? Temporarily fence that area so she can’t return? Etc?

My dad is still in the hospital in NC so I am needed to fill in “shifts” there so getting a duckling would only prolong my leaving. My family all have hearts for animals and have been understanding as to why I have only made a couple of short trips up there. Think I need to go pull my weight when this is over and give others a chance to rest.
