Thanks for everyone's responses and suggestions - it's good to know there are others out there who care & share my concerns. The three roosters are gone - I kept one, that, so far does not seem to be causing a problem - and 4 hens. If not, Mr. Panteloons will have to go; he is a very handsome gentleman, and quite protective of his ladies! I will keep a close eye on things, and hopefully this will become a stable brood.

If anybody has any ideas on how to keep them entertained in these monthes ahead, when they really don't get out much, that'd be great. I've heard about hanging cabbage - that didn't go over too great. Lettuce was a disaster - they actually hated it! I'm sure there's someway to help them while away thier hours of confinement as the wind blows & the ice pelts against thier coop!
