No. @casportpony never said if I should or not, or the correct dosage. So far today I have not seen him swallowing in an unusual way.

PetsMart and PetCo carry something called API General Cure, but it contains 250 mg metronidazole and 75 mg praziqiantel. If you were 100% sure that he had canker you could try this, but something with just metronidazole would be much safer.

If that is pus I bet he has a bacterial sinus infection, and that pus needs to be removed. If he were mine i would remove pus, start Baytril, and I might even try to flushing sinuses. Please, please, please, try to find a vet that will see him because I think this is very serious.

I believe it is usually given for a week straight.
It's also given by weight of the bird.
I think she was waiting for you to say how much he weighs so she could calculate the dose for you.
