Hi,
I have two laying ducks and they’re about 2years old.
They were both doing fine this morning until one of them started vomiting. After half an hour she lost had balance issues and couldn’t walk properly, her wings also looks droopy and She’s got laboured breathing. Despite difficulty in moving she keeps moving and walking and she looks nervous.
It’s weekend so I couldn’t find a vet and they also didn’t answer their phone. Please help me! What should i do?
By the way they had levamisole for worming two weeks ago. And the only medicine I have at home right now is Enrofloxacin and a doxy(which Might’ve been expired by now)

Sounds like botulism,Is there anything she might of eaten recently that you know of?
Spoiled feed,Rotten Carcass,Maggots or contaminated water can all cause botulism.Pictures or a video would be helpful.

I don’t think it might’ve been a food or water because the last 24hrs all they had was boiled egg, tomatoes, a little pasta, cucumber, lettuce and lots of fresh water. The thing is this summer is too hot and there too many flies and mosquitoes aroud, Is there any possibility she was bitten by them and got sick??

Why did you administer Levamisole two weeks ago?as a preventive or did you find worms in there droppings? There appears to be swelling above the eyes.Almost like something bit them.Sorry to ask but can you get a closer picture of her eye?

To prevent worming I add levamisole to their water every three months.
It is not a swelling, the feathers aroud her eyes keep sticking and no amount of water is enough to cleanse it; until it peels off and she lose the feathers around her eyes

Like matting from drainage? @MasterOfClucker I am seeing that too. Could she have a sinus infection? first the drainage that is causing her feathers to matt around the eyes is it clear and thin or thick and yellowish?
This happend a few months ago for the first time, I asked a vet, he said it might be nothing(because they don’t like bathing so much, just a little playing with water everyday) but anyway he prescribed a powder which was for external parasites and I applied it to them as prescribed... I didn’t think it might’ve been an infection

No, actually I have never seen any external parasites on them or even worms in their dropping but I’m following the vet prescription and I add levamisole to their water or apply the powder to their body and wings every three months.
