I got it to drink some water finally! I put some nutridrench in it. I will grab the other ingredients you suggested later today!

Also, it’s trying to stand, but the remaining yolk sac is interfering I believe and it’s really weak still. I added a photo below. Do you suggest I leave it be?

As long as they are able to finish absorbing
Baby should be up running around in no time
May not eat or drink much for 24 hours though
When they hatch under mom she sits for 48 to hatch her babies then takes them out. The yolk is meant to keep them going while waiting for the rest to hatch
I only worry if one isn’t drinking and starting feed 24 hours after absorbing
But as others have said adding in a little vitamins to the water when it does start won’t hurt anything abd will give baby the little extra boost

Thank you so much for your help. I put it (hoping for a she) in a bowl. She seems to love the towel she is laying on so I left that one with her. She is also under a heat lamp even though it is a blistering 93 here. I keep checking to make sure she isn’t too hot. I do not have an incubator as momma was laying on this egg and it got squished/stepped on.
Also, I’m trying to keep the yolk moist. I dab a little coconut oil on it every so often.

My mom duck say for 30 days but she didn’t help the ones that had internal pip and died as they couldn’t external
Last baby had bruise on wrong end and I took it as it needed a full assist
I did try to put her with mom once up and dry but mom freaked out and tried to attack her. She was a young duck and first time bing broody
I raised her but she is now with mom full time at 5.5 months they just don’t know that

I don’t think I will put it back under mom. I have a brooder box with a heat lamp and separate housing until they are big enough too integrate. The other eggs seem to be okay. One I noticed was a little cracked and had a small hole from being stepped on I believe. But the duckling was still wrapped in the membrane and there were lots of blood vessels still, it has not pipped. but I actually put melted wax over the hole and crack. So I’m hoping that one will be okay. It’s also under the heat lamp and not back under mom.

I don’t think I will hatch eggs again. I am a worrier and I worry too much. Lol

You need to keep it humid so it doesn't dry up. A warm, wet sponge should do.

A broody is unpredictable, and I find that incubator hatching is enjoyable and a littlemore reliable than a broody. You should try

That’s quite a bit of yolk to absorb still, so please be prepared if it doesn’t make it. But we can always hope and pray that it does! What you are doing gives it the best possible chance, so hopefully it will absorb within the next several hours.

As far as moistening the part that has not absorbed, it’s good to keep it from sticking to the towel, but isn’t necessary if it’s not sticking. I’d try to moisten it as little as possible, but it’s better than it getting stuck to anything.

@WVduckchick it looks like the yolk sac just ruptured a little. The stuff coming out of it is not liquidy but it’s not hard either, it’s sticky. It looks like it’s nail caught it. What do I do?!

There honestly isn’t that much yolk left to absorb.

Hmm, I’d just try to keep as much from coming out as possible.

Should I put any antibiotic ointment on it? Neomycin? Bacitracin? Not sure why I don’t have neosporin. I have both on hand and neither have pain reliever in them?
