Please Hold My Hand

Yes littleshadow you should be able to get those thermometer/Hydrometer at Lowes or any Hardware store. You really should get one they are less than $20. If you have one already it really wouldn't hurt to get a new one. If your temps are OK, vents are closed and you have water (sponge) in there your humidity has got to be higher than that. How damp is your sponge?

PC ia the Hova Genesis the one that is all digital. They sound really great, not really that bad a price either for what your getting.

ParsaonsWife, Glad your still hangin in. Don't know how a 2 day absence would be. SpeckeledHen was here a bit ago. Maybe she knows. If that's all you can do I guess you gotta do the best you can.

Mine are still chugging along. Temp dropped a little today, about a half degree. Readjusted and now things are OK.

I didn't look to see what model it was. It says inside temp, outside temp, and humidity. When I push the humidity button it says max is 44%, but then it goes back to 33%. It does have a probe, and I put it in the water wriggler, and the temp inside of that was reading low.

Hey Bob,
My sponge is pretty damp, and I just put more water in my trays. If this doesn't work it will be okay, I am just learning, and we learn by our mistakes. So I won't give up I will just do it better next time.

Oh okay, I have it sitting on the table. I bet that is what is wrong with it. Thanks so much speckledhen. I will go stick it in there now.

woooohoooo! It worked. Now I think it is to high according to what everyone is tell me. It is @ 67% and climbing so I opened a vent is this correct. Now I am getting excited....

How long are eggs viable?

I'm thinking perhaps I can buy another incubator - I don't WANT to spend a ton of money on one I'll only use ONCE, but I don't want to mess up a hatch and be disapointed, have to look at the kids faces when nothing happens.....

Way to go lilshadow, glad you found your problem. Yup, leave the vents open til it gets down to the low 40's the close one vent, see what happens close the other if necessary. For now anywhere between 40 and 50 is where you to be.
