That is what I did! I plugged the vent holes to try to keep the heat in and then covered them up!

Temps and Humidity fine, tipped 3 to 5 times a day

I'm getting impatient. Think I'm gonna buy 20 bators then after the first 20 days I wouldn't have to go thru this

I hatched 80 chicks in October & November. My bators sat for a month
until I pushed 2 of them on my insuspecting victims. Then I got the deal on the
used Brinsea. Here we go again.

I'm picking up 24 RIR/Barred Rock crossed eggs tommorrow from a local
breeder. With my luck I'll have a 100% hatch.

Ain't no doubt. I am getting so into this its unreal. I spoke to my adult son who lives in Denver today. I was telling him about my chickens and my hatching adventure. He sat in stoned silence while I rambled on. Finally he says to me... This is not my father. He could not get over the fact I'm so into it. There is just something so fulfilling in this hobby. I went out a little while ago and put my chickens to bed. While I was out there a few of them where in my way as I was filling water and food. I just reached down picked one up and started stroking its neck. It sat there and made a little sound that you could tell it was content. No fear of this giant thing thats got a hold of it. Just gave me the warm fuzzy's. How could you not get addicted to that.

Yes he is. I"m a 6'3" 240 lb guy with a pretty gruff exterior. This is so out of character. But as you say they are so relaxing. I totaly enjoy it.
