Please Hold My Hand

That's what this place is all about.

Heart sick!

I killed an egg last night!
Yes, it was a viable egg, blood leaked out the side....I didn't look at first...then I did...there were veins running everywhere and a dark spot, was that the eye or the heart?

So I'm down to 21 eggs...some were not showing movement or veins when I candled some of them...so of course, it's going to be one that is growing a baby chick, that would break!

I bought a wiggler, was putting a therm. into it...and the wiggler shot that therm. out of like an arrow, and when it fell, it hit right on that egg!!

Sad. Hope the rest of my eggs make it.

I hope no one else has this happen to them...I should have put the cover back on...but didn't. Hindsight is 20/20.

Aw, I'm sorry Parson's! could have happened to anyone. I admit it is one thought that keeps me from candling more. What if I drop one????

So sorry ParsonsWife. Accidents happen. :aww

I wanted to mention the difficulties of putting the probe in the wiggler. Mine kept shooting out the probe. But I forgot. You can blame me PrasonsWife.

Omg so my power has gone out twice in the last two days! It was only for an hour or 2 each time but I'm seriously freaking out about it! I really hope there isn't any long term effects!

Eryn, don't get to excited, take a breath, its OK

Your bator should hold temps for that long. The temp will go down, but not enough to cause problems. Just don't open the bator, who does that with the lights out

I read somewhere to add a blanket on top when your temps are dropping for whatever reasons.

Bob- Thanks, but no blame lies with you. I'm just excited about the rest of the hatch, definitely more cautious though.
