Ok good! I'm just using an led flashlight that is really bright and holding them over it! I can clearly see veins and the embryo it just appears to be stuck to one side of the egg on some of them!

I did that but also made a cone of black construction paper that had a one inch opening at one end. I shined the flash light through the bigger opening and it seemed to help me see better.

I'll have to give that a try! I tried using cardboard over a brighter light to see through my darker eggs so maybe I should give that a try with the little ones too!

jmike. Its a kids toy. Its a tube full of some sort of jelly with a hole threw the middle. It goes by many names in the stores. Cost less than a buck.
For our use it simulates the temp inside the egg. That gives you a more precise temp reading for our needs.
There are lots of posts explaining it better than I did, but that will give you some idea.

I forgot to turn my eggs 3 times. I only turned twice..
Feel bad....my schedule was so crazy and stressful and long...and on and on

When I got home that night, I fell on the couch, kicked off my shoes and that was it.
Well, I said a prayer for them...

Ok I candled again lastnight using a box with a flashlight inside of it, and it wasn't good. Not a one was developed into a baby. I threw them all out. I am ready to take the incubator back and say it don't work.

So guess what I did, I set 23 more eggs. I think I might just have to build one.
