I have found 3 baby chicks without their mom, they were all wet and upside down but I saw their bellies breathing, they were all wet (it rained last night). I got them at home in the box and tried feeding them (not sure how...) I do not have any experience raising them and my husband is not talking to me right now, he doesn't want chickens in the house (we live in an apartment). Please, can someone help me out? I can't just let them die outside, they can't even eat on their own yet, little precious babies... I don't have a heat lamp to keep them warm. Can anyone please help?

For heat, a human heating pad (preferably without an auto off, otherwise you'll need to turn it back on over and over), a plastic bottle of hot water wrapped in a towel (water will need to be switched out as it cools down), hand warmers, etc. can all work.

For food, if you could scramble or hard boil some eggs and chop them very finely, that will work fine for chicks in a pinch. They don't need to eat for up to 3 days after birth but not sure how old these guys are.

Water can be served in a small shallow dish. To show them where drink, pick them up, and dip their beaks in the water.

You will need a way to try to get them dried off and warms as quickly as possible. You will need to go to a local Tractor Supply Co. or a similar store nearby ASAP to get starter chick feed and a heat lamp. Until then, I would recommend turning up the thermostat in your house if possible, and gently dry them off with a dry, warm washcloth. If you have any lights in your house that aren't LED, I would try putting their bin underneath it, and put a heating pad underneath the bin if you have one, like @PianoTheSilkie said. Any heat counts! Another way you can dry them off is to get a hairdryer and turn it on low, drying them off with hot air, which will warm them up at the same time.

A good way to get some food and energy in them is to make an electrolyte solution using:

1 cup of warm water
2 teaspoons of molasses or sugar
1/8 teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon of baking soda

Use a syringe and gently squirt a drop at a time into their mouth.

Hope this helps!

I gave them egg white (hard boiled) and bread with milk. They are now dry, all fluffy and cute. It's hot in Miami and they are in the room with no AC. I can't keep them in my apartment. Does anyone know who I can ask for help to adopt them?...

Be careful with the milk, a tiny bit is OK butit does have lots of fat that is hard to digest. Better keep it down to just the electrolite solution provided by chickengirl1278 and the egg white. Good work! If you have any more questions, please ask!
