If it's absorbing and thriving it should be fine. How's the temp and humidity in the incubator?Thank you for your reassurance, im now having that drink!...
Ihad one hatch two days ago and it has a bit of shell stuck to it between its belly button and vent but not covering either, i bathed and picked off what i could but a small bit remains. Shall i do anything else or will it come off?,it also had a pea size yolk externally and it is absorbing, yellowish stuff if you touch it. Is that also ok? The one that hatched yesterday is thriving!
The temp is at 37.5, humidity 67%, the one that is absorbing ( hatched two days ago) is now in the brooder along with one that hatched yesterday. If it's absorbing and thriving it should be fine. How's the temp and humidity in the incubator?
I am wondering? This is my first time hatching, i think next time i will put a thermometer and humidity ready inside the incubator and see if they match up? Altogether i had six eggs, one was a yolker when i candled on day ten, another hatched day 14 ( the supplier apologised and said he must of picked an egg that had been sat on for a week), it died six days later but seemed happy and healthy till then, i did have it on pine shavings and have since removed them due to mixed opinions on toxicity. The others hatched day 22, 23 and now today, day 24. I still have one egg with a crack in it but unsure if this was cause by two of the chicks knocking it about?@DocBirdBrain what do you think, could this be a humidity or temp issue?
Tagged Doc, we'll figure it out. But still, don't worry. They are doing fine.!)The temp is at 37.5, humidity 67%, the one that is absorbing ( hatched two days ago) is now in the brooder along with one that hatched yesterday.
Am I correct in assuming the temp is Celsius?I am wondering?
