I guess I am hesitant to move The meanie in case they dont accept the silkie back either and then ive lost both. But honestly none of the other hens went near them except our mean orloff.

It's not a rooster, she is a mean laying hen. You and my husband have similar opinions though, he is so mad at her!

I assumed rooster because of this:

and looked out to see my russian orloff on top of silkie grabbing her neck.

If you want to try and keep her get the pinless peepers. Keep them on her for as long as you feel like.
At least a few weeks.

The peepers do work for this kind of problem. It will actually make you feel bad for the orloff. Personally I’d knock her head off so I still agree with your husband.
