I posted this morning. Lost a white leghorn and had some blood and diahrea around her when I found her. I started treating the rest of them right away thinking it’s Coccidiosis. Two more of the white Leghorns started acting ill... one vomiting up water every time she’d drink. I separated them from the rest. Both lethargic. Was hoping Corid and electrolytes were helping... seemed to be. And tonight... another one dead! Diahrea... around. If Corid isn’t helping, what else can I do!? What would strike and kill SO fast!? I mean, if they were gonna die so quickly, shouldn’t I have been seeing large amounts of blood and really sick chickens for a couple days? This seems to have come on fast! Should I treat for worms? What else? Please help!!! I have put SO much work into these chickens and they JUST started laying, and I can’t believe they are dying and I don’t even know why!!!

Oh gosh, I’m not sure about that! I haven’t noticed anything. What works cause a crop issue? What can i do if it’s that?

Crop issues happen when there is some sort of blockage that is not causing the crop to empty properly. Feel their crops, what do they feel like? Are they full? What time of day is it? Crops should be full at night and empty in the morning. Does their breath smell sour? What does their poop look like? Is it normal or mostly water?

Gosh almighty! I don’t know! Did your food go bad in this heat? Have you checked it? Did you give them any table scraps that would have made them sick in this heat? The heat has been so bad over heat and down this way in the South that I have been afraid we would have an outbreak of something we would not be able to stop suddenly. I live in MS. Please look at your food ASAP.

By the way. I am sorry to say that I forgot to mention that I am so sorry for the loss of your poor Leghorns. That may have been a very awful way to go. They must be feeling very sick. I would try to get a temp on all of your birds and keep them out of the heat if you can. How many do you have? I am so sorry for your loss and this trouble that you may have on your hands. I know that this is unusual and difficult circumstances but if you could get a stool sample to a local vet to run ASAP that would be to your most advantage and help so that you knew how best to treat your flock. It is critical.
