PLS HELP! EMERGENCY! HEN ATE BUTTON AND NOT DOING WELL

I'm so sorry about this. If you are wondering if the button killed her or if she was egg bound, you could cut her abdominal cavity open and look. The button would be in the crop or gizzard, and if she was egg bound, you would see a full size egg staring back at you from her stomach area.

I agree with @Wyorp Rock that the button was too small to do this to your hen. It's much more likely she was egg bound. It would take all of three minutes to verify this as a stuck egg would be easy to see as soon as the abdominal cavity was opened up.

If you ever so much as suspect egg binding with another hen, give her a calcium tablet immediately. That will help her push the egg out.

Thank you so much for everyone that helped me. Unfortunately my lucky girl passed away.
I'm so sorry this happened. Just know you did everything you could do for her in the moment. You will learn from her passing and any egg bound hen in the future will be better for it. I'm so sorry for your loss, she knew she was loved. :hugs:hugs

I agree that this was likely egg-binding too, if not another underlying health issue. The timing of the button "snack" seems coincidental...
