These are one boy and one girl from the quad I got from SGRIBBE on here. I am very happy with them. This boy is the smallest one. He was 9 lb few monts ago.

When do these heritage breed roos mature? My roo hatched about the first of the year. I think he was crowing, but he does not crow much and he is still not doing his "job"

Hubby keeps telling me, he is just a slow bird to mature, but come on?.... ok he can take all the time he wants, but when can I expect him to reach sexual maturity? I see really young roos trying to practice and he shows no interest that I have seen.

My cockerel did not crow or attempt mating until about 25 weeks of age. I've had only the one heritage male and he was super slow to do anything, including feather and fill out.
He is older than that.... hubby figured he is 33 weeks

guess I just have to wait

It is usually lack of direct sun, but without seeing them I wouldn't know for sure. Since this was a fair I have to ask. Was this woman a licensed judge? Judges do not have to be particularly knowledgeable to judge a fair nor do they need a judges lic. there are only 5-6 women judges in the US with a lic. Three of them here in Cali.
