Barred Rocks don't lay blue eggs. Either Felicia layed it, or one of your barred Rocks is mixed with something that has a blue egg gene. Are we certain on this? My two Plymouth rocks I got in April of this year just started laying. They are the blueish variety. One has been laying very light brown eggs. And you know how cute and tiny they are when they first lay. Tonight as I was tucking everyone in, I saw a blue egg laying randomly in the middle of the coup. I figured it was from our Aracauna, Felicia. She is our only blue/green egg layer. But she has been laying outside the coup lately and this little tiny egg was definitely more than half less the size she normally lays. I suppose she could have just layed a tiny egg, but it can’t be for certain yet. I will keep an eye out for this. P.S., our Plymouth’s names are Gandalf (the grey) and Frodo. We are fairly certain Frodo started laying first.
