I read some where on the BYC that pointy eggs produce roosters..... is there some scientific research posted somewhere, or this an old wives tale?

I've got 4 silkie eggs and I'm waiting to see if any lay today for a test hatch, but one is pointy and i'm a little concern....

what's your thoughts on this?

That's a complete myth. I've heard of it too.

The only thing I find true is that pointy eggs have a better hatch rate due to the shape and spacing for the chick inside. Also because it allows the hatcher to know which end is up and down.
