another question: I've been noticing something rather disturbing to me. When the chicks are outside and playing, they will do the typical flying around and jump up to do the "claw the air" maneuver. However I've caught my little pullet Polish bending over and doing a rooster stance (head down, tail up and waiting to charge). I've never observed this in my other chickens or chicks since they are supposed to be all girls. Now the only exception to this, is my baby Jersey Giant, he is supposed to be a roo and he doesn't do the "rooster stance" but the "claw the air" attack.
Does the play action indicate that they got it wrong at the hatchery or is it just a preference to the chick which one to do?
