yeah, blue and greeen is normal, but for any black show bird, purple is an unwanted color and you will likely not win much.

He has a lot of this gold coming out from under his feathering, on his back under his wings, even in his crest

My girls crest is so poofy she can't see.
I bought these baby elastics and they work great but she keeps pulling them out.
Any suggestions? I don't want to use tape I think she would hurt herself trying to get it out.

I am wondering the same thing. My poor girl got lost and ended up in the middle of the road the other day. Her sister, who is a frizzle and can actually see is like her little seeing eye dog. They are never apart, but for some reason they got separated and I think she wandered off trying to find her sister but she ended up way far from home. This is the first time any of my chickens has ended up in the road. She was lucky that my neighbor saw her because people drive around 60 out here in the country. I was just coming on here to ask for suggestions and it looks like someone has beat me to it. Her crest is so beautiful and full, I would hate to cut it, but I feel like if I put a colorful band in her feathers the other girls might pick on her. She has a hard enough time fitting in already. Her only friend is her frizzle sister pretty much...poor girl...
