Boy or girl???

The top on looks like a boy and the 2nd one looks like a girl so I am no help at all..lol..kinda looks like a roo stance in the last picture but that's just a guess..it's as tricky as my lil one...

Yes I am currently using corid on my flock. We don't usually, but with all this rain, a couple of birds became ill. We lost 2 and 3 more were rehabilitated

I HAD A POLISH BUT IT DIED OF COCCSSIDIOSUS

My six day old chick died yesterday. (rip baby silver laced)

That is so sad y'all. Poor babies - my Mom always said chicks were delicate. How'd you know when there's cocci? I don't know unless I take a fecal sample to the vet for testing. I think there's like one or two strains of cocci that will show blood in the stool; otherwise I can't tell by just looking?

Anytime any of my birds gets really tired or they don't move around much or are just sickly we use corid on them

Could that condition pertain just as easily to worms? I guess I'm afraid to guess on medical things. TG my vet is only 10 minutes away. I think I'd go nuts trying to figure out how to medically diagnose my chickens. I used to take the chicken to the vet if sick but now I've finally gotten comfortable enough to know to just to take a fecal sample for testing - cheaper than taking the chicken to the vet too. If the sample returns negative for parasites or bacteria then he might suggest bringing in the chicken for an exam. It's amazing how compromised a chicken's immune system becomes susceptible to other diseases just from having worms or cocci.

OMG!!! So Freakin Cute!!!!!!!!!! I had ordered a run of 15 recently (June 8th) I only have 3 living now. idk what happend?? I am so upset. Stayed up with them for two days straight then slept a 8hrs then stayed up another two days slept eight hours maybe...repet repet etc.... I raised chicks before but never this breed but educated myself 6 month before I purchased them and was really excited but now I'm left standing beside myself wondering what went wrong . Any advice would be very much appreciated. Great picture!

Where did you order them from? Maybe they were shipped really far? I don't have the greatest luck with Polish eggs shipped, they seem more fragile than other breeds. But the ones that hatch are always strong healthy chicks..even my Tolbunts and I can't tell you how many people told me they were hard to keep alive. .I've only lost one Tolbunt chick and other than a slipped tendon she was very healthy..hopping around and getting along well considering and it was me that decided to put her down bc the messed up leg was getting tangled in grass and it wasn't fair to her :'(

Awe, I know that had to be a hard decision for you to make but if she kept that on with that leg, she would of suffered and posable picked on by other chickens.

I ordered my chicks with murray mcmurray's. I picked them up at the post office. They all arrived fine and seemed healthy that day but that night the first night was when things started to happen. about 3 died that early morning 3:00 all at the same time. Then others (about 4 more) started to look tired and lethargic with their neck bending back. I lost all those in two days.
As of then I was down almost half a run (8) I thought it was all over but one by one 5 more died. One of those 5 died today.

Now I have only 3. The last five that had passed away never showed any symptoms until a few hours before death (neck bending back) I was really shocked with the last 5 deaths. It's like I'm starting to second guess myself and feel a little crazy. It's really mind blowing and very emotionally exhausting. I will never give up though.

Get some vitamins. .you can either get Poultry Drench or baby's PolyViSol without iron..give the chicks a drop directly on the side of the beak a couple times a day. From the neck bending back description it sounds like wry neck and it is caused by a vitamin defiency. .this lil girl had it so bad I carried her with me 24/7 for 2 days bc I was sure she was going to pass any minute..here she is 2 months later...she has only just stopped laying her head on her back in the last 2 weeks.
