I've been checking the babies every 10 to 20 minutes. I hope they don't start fighting again, Ringo is still pecking at Star every time they get close, but no more fights.... do you think they'll settle down? None of my easter eggers have gotten that bad, ever, and they're 12 weeks. Gosh, they don't even jump at each other!

That's strange. My boys have never fought before.

They need to establish dominance (AKA who's in charge and who's second in charge) so I would say don't separate them unless they have a bloody fight. I have two roosters and one must have challenged the other's dominance, they were both covered in blood but they didn't get permanently damaged. The dominant one (Americana) still hasn't grown back his beard and muff yet. I separated them for a couple weeks and after that there hasn't been any cockfights, a little bit of pecking, but that's expected. They weren't raised together like yours are so they probably won't get in that big of fights and mine also had a one year age difference.
About the Americanas (they're also known as Easter Eggers), everyone I've met has said that they make the meanest roosters, but I've had 5 (all at different years and 4 died at 1-2 yrs old of things like dogs and drowning, so far they're really disease resistant and only one of them was vaccinated) All of them would let me hold them and they would eat from my hand. Am I just lucky, or are all my friends unlucky? Anyway, the Americanas are not the usual ones to start the cockfights, the one who challenged dominance was a Rhode Island.
So I would keep them together because they need to establish dominance and they need to claim parts of their new enclosure. Keep an eye on them to make sure it doesn't get to big though. Good luck!

Thank you. The fight startled me mostly because they are so young, but also because there was so much flapping, chirping and jumping all at once. They seem to be a little calmer every time I check them.

My OE's dad is pure Ameraucana. There moms are mostly Marans. They are all very docile and the worst fight they have ever gotten into included some serious starring, and maybe one peck. That batch was raised together though, so I think that their pecking order is mostly established. I don't know how they'll react when I introduce my new Pure Ameraucana..... he is in quarantine for now.

Maybe by tomorrow the babies will have it figured out. I'll keep checking on them.

You can try intergration one at a time, I usually distract with lots of clover&treats so they can all be busy father yummy stuff, once they are all fat, full and sleepy there using much reason to bicker&peck. As long. As there's plenty of spots to roost&dust they generally seem unintrested in pecking at each other.
Good luck!
i put 2 chicks in the cage that were trying to peck smaller ones.

Hmm being nosey but it is cause I wanna understand&share my observations IF it will help. When u put them together like a peck or few(cause that's normal at first with adults birds, even all hens have a bit of a pecking order) SOME introductions are normal it's if they just keep ON going at one another all the time, then that's when you gotta get them apart. They don't settle down after about 10mins you are really gonna have to keep an eye on them. Takes work, but def worth the time investment.

Just don't want anyone waking up to a beaten down, possibly murdered chicken if I can help it.
Kinda like human life I got picked on CONSTANTLY and messed with, getting older&healthier actually made things worse. The better you look the more haters HATE. Thankfully there's kick boxing&a very strong spirited local husband with an AMAZING wife(who overcame breast cancer). Let a man try again...I won't waste my effort or one shot on lower region, I'll just make sure they fall after that first punch, it's their nose or kidney whatever I can reach first. They are gonna drop. No pecking order needed.

I submit To GOD no human better stand between me my Lord. (he knew me before I was formed in the womb,we go way back).
If you have a show hen do NOT risk the mutilation of others in a mut pen. Spoil her&keep her safe&comfortable at all times roosters are a dime a dozen, a good broody polish you may not ever find.

pardon my passion&zest for life I'm a pill tuff for many to swallow.
When you get beaten down enough you have no choice but to fight for each breath every day like it's your last. I try not to take even a dropped feather for granted. All things have a purpose. People hate me because I know what my purpose is.
Hate or like...I'm still gonna just be me. What u see is what u get.

Wether it's parenting,chickens,cats,dogs,whatever.
I will come back down from the clouds now.(did charity work today kinda is my natural high) Appoligies if I sounded overly righteous never my intent.
I'm nothing(with out my God) and glad he allows me chickens because people about drive me bonkers LMBO.

What did everyone else do today??!! Do tell!
