Thank you.
My gold rooster is very polite, but Ringo (the buff here) shredded the comb of one of my speckled Sussex.

I got so mad that I sent him to live in the goat pasture with my other bad roosters.

*gasp* Naughty Boy!!!

I'm hoping mine are just rough from inexperience. And they all try to mob one hen all together.

Hoping to separate my bearded with my bearded hen and make some babies, or at the least see how he does under some close supervision.

What is my "Diana"? I mean is she a black lace? I know not buff. My first chickens and she is the only polish. Thanks in advance

Diana is a white crested black :D
I have a couple of these and they are real characters!

Do you trim their feathers so they can see well? I read on the internet especially if they're just pets you can do it. And I know she definitely doesn't see well. But I am scared to try to trim it

Certain ones of mine I trim. Mainly the frizzle ones as their crests do sometimes get out of hand.

Trimming is a two person job, one holding the bird and the other using the scissors.

I don't know if I'm complaining, making a statement or asking a question. But if you have an answer, reply or comment please chime in :) Last year I got some Polish Crested chicks from Cackle Hatchery. They have been laying off and on since the Fall and their eggs are finally big enough to hatch. So I set six of their eggs with a few easter egger eggs. At the same time, I ordered some silver laced Polish chicks from Ideal Poultry and scheduled them to be shipped so that my own chicks in the incubator would go into the brooder at the same time the hatchery chicks arrived. Turns out, the hatchery chicks are about 24 hours older than my own buff laced chicks so that worked out perfectly. So, what's up with the silvers? They are so small. Supposed to be standard size and not bantam. Still cute though! Too bad one died the first night they were here.
Super cute! Sorry to hear you lost one on the first night :( Different strains could be just slightly smaller but on the other hand they could have sent you bantam.

@Banaynaychicken

Those are some fab pics you have posted! You really should make a chicken page and enter for the pic of the week! Very nice birds indeed :D

I did of my home flock at some point, and won pic of the week ^^

Was a great experience, but i'm definitely hoping to win again with these three boys.

Their flock will be expanding soon enough as I will be buying some outdoor acclimated chicks here very soon!
