It's a boy
Thanks BGMatt.Don't have my standard with me (yes I'm ashamed) but isn't the crest shape defined as rounded? Which seems to me the only way to achieve that is with the feather's growing toward the face before curling back toward the body. If they went straight up that would create a flat side on the crest. I think that's also why the majority of the time it's hens and pullets winning vs males because with the pointed narrower feathers they don't hold the round shape as nicely (although the standard description is slightly different, wish I had mine with me right now.)
Thanks BGMatt.
Here are pictures of my little ones - 3 weeks old now. The other two pictures are their parents. This is a good example of the feathers curling forward (the roo) versus back (the hen).
Look at their little crests starting to grow out!![]()
These are their parents. I forgot to mention that the roo is also frizzle. It looks like both chicks are smooth.

Hi, I'm completely new. I have 1 buff & 2 gold Polish. I had a silver but it didn't make it.I believe all mine are bantams. Anyways, I'm interested in finding another silver laced and interested in tolbunts. I have no interest in the white cresteds. Also, is it okay if the different colors mix/breed together?? How big of a deal is that?
I live in central Wisconsin. Thanks!
