Welcome!,, aren't those polish cute...!,, but the one you have are like a mixture right..? It remind me of the cartoons! When they plug in the hair dryer, the hair is all frizzled ! Lol poor little things what they have done to you!

I read that this animals are more cautious because of the lack of eye site; due to their tops! For that reason they make excellent guardians in the flock.

She is adorable! They all 3 are, but I've never seen a pic of a Tolbunt before, and I am so in love with her calico coloration!!

Awww thanks! She is really pretty & definitely one of my favorites:) I'm certainly no expert but I believe they are a newer coloration and harder to find.
I purchased eggs from Theresa Slaughter on Facebook. Her Tolbunts are frizzled but Ava didn't...I guess you would say "frizz"

The only roo I ever had was a wonderful bantam Silkie and he was sweeter than his sister - unfortunately we can't keep roos and he was re-homed

Roos will be aggressive during mating season or if they think you are getting too near THEIR hens. Those who have evil roos usually don't use them for breeding stock and they make it to the freezer. We aren't allowed roos so I haven't had any experience with any breed other than the one sweet Silkie roo.

A couple more footed or crested breeds with sweetness genes are the Cochins and Sultans.

actaully, we have never had a rooster get more aggressive towards us during breeding season. Our wcb is just always mean around his girls.
I think its actually known that the more protective roosters breed better than calm ones.

Like I said the only experience we had was with a Silkie roo and he was sweet as could be but a horny little guy and wouldn't stop crowing all day! Got embarrassing so we HAD to re-home him since we aren't zoned for roos.

I'm sure it's probably been asked but I have a question for you guys.
I'm introducing a group of four chickens to our four older easter egger hens. The newer group is two Rhode Island reds and two polish.
Any tips to keep the easter Eggers from pecking at the Polish crests?
The RIRs don't even bug them since they grew up together but I'm worried about the Easter Eggers.
I read somewhere that you can out Vicks Vaporub on their crests to keep the other ones from pecking them but is that safe?
Thank you!
I love my polish and I really don't want to have to rehome them.
