Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are my new chicks hatched by my broody silkie Sophia. They are Tolbunt polish. She is better than an incubator. Lol

This is a Polish chick I picked out at a breeders, I just spied her in the brooder, and at the time she was the color on her head all over. It was such a rich cocoa looking color, I asked her what color is she and she said she was part of her Tolbunt project (which I think she may have abandoned the project I mean). Anyway, I just liked her (I hope it''s a her) and brought her home too. Her name is Coco. She just recently added the black on her wings and breast and is growing a topknot.

This is a white crest black I got at the same place. I am hoping it is a pullet, but I am wondering if this color on the wings is leakage or something else. I have never grown a Polish except for my splash roo. When I picked him out he had two black spots on his topknot and I was told that black would grow from those spots, and I have seen that in pictures. Hoping this is a pullet, and the above also. Not at the cute and cuddly look right now. They are about 3-4 weeks old.

They are so cute♡♡ Silkie chicks have long been at the top of my "cutest chick list", but I am almost as excited and nervous about these Tolbunt eggs as I was with my own pregnancy. .lol..
I did just realize that the eggs I thought were just GL/Tolbunt splits are really from a Tolbunt roo over GL and Tolbunt hens (I thought all the hens were GL), so I still have a chance at some pure Tolbunt and I have 2 amazing GL hens I'm getting that will hopefully do nothing but better my birds..
I can't wait to have broodies again..this straight incubator business will make a person grey overnight

Lol, there is nothing more awkward than a Polish in its teenage phase..sort of the ugly duckling 'chicken style'.. The chocolate colored chick looks like it may be a GL/Tolbunt split, maybe a 2nd generation crossed back to a GL? I'm just guessing..but they are both adorable ♡

Thank you Crzychnlady81 for the words of encouragement. Seems most of the pictures are of the cute and puffy stage and mine kind of looked like chicks on a stick (bg). I have an about 8 week old splash roo and he is still trying to decide to be a handsome guy, but getting better every day.

I have some silkies coming up and one hen, plus some Cochin bantams and hope to use them to hatch Polish in the future, although I have just today received an incubator that I ordered. I have calico Cochin bantam eggs coming and plan to start incubating some, but I am really nervous about it. There is a fellow out here who will hatch your eggs for you for $1 per hatched egg and in an emergency, or if I have a breakdown before putting them in my incubator, I will call him. Wish me luck.

Definitely sending good luck vibes your way..I've certainly been all over the place with hatch rates this year.

I think everyone intentionally avoids sharing pics of their Polish when they're in that gawky stage..lol..I think they're adorable all of the time ♡♡

I actually just placed an ad to hatch for people and was wondering what would be fair to charge..that may satisfy my addiction without overflowing my brooders..lol..I have a couple that will buy any chick I have for 5$ each bc they know I usually always buy qualit eggs of hard to find breeds around here..those kinds of friends are great to have when you love to hatch ♡

I came back to lots of cute chicks, awesome!

Mine are getting a bit funky looking, but I am happy that the two white colored chicks are indeed buffs. The other two that I kept are GL, here's to hoping I grabbed 4 pullets. With my luck I picked cockerels.
