Pictures would be great. Congrats on the hatch! I'm not familiar enough with colors but I know you can breed Tolbunt together. Smooth or frizzle feathers? You shouldnt breed frizzle to frizzle.

Hi! I'm new to this thread & new to Polish, kind of. We had one hen when I was a little kid but that's it. I just got some Crele Polish & some Tolbunt Polish chicks from a friend of mine. 12 out of 12 eggs hatched!! I can't tell who is who rt now. They look like 3 different colors right now. Can I (or should i) breed these two colors together to get another color or should I keep them separate? I'm trying to learn as much as I can, so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!![]()

What do you think? 5-6mths....wattles/crest are not even pink. Haven't heard crowing at all. Pointy feathers but its a frizzle. Crest looks round/neat.

Thanks for the warm welcome..WelcomeI have my first polish and hatched eggs from tolbunt and crele. They came from a breeder in Florida also. I originally thought she had them separate and I would have tolbunt AND crele chicks but it turned out she must have had them together because I didn't get any tolbunt and they look a bit mixed. Tolbunt X crele gives you the US version of "candy corn". A few posts back are pics of my chicks and how they are turning out as a mix. I have gold laced showing up, candy corn?, and, well, I don't really know yet. Still learning. All I really know is I didn't get the tolbunts, and that's what I really wanted. So I'm looking for more now, oh well at least these guys are really cute.![]()
Thanks so much! I'm excited to learn about these guys.Congrats on the new polish chicks!
I been learning they take a good ten months to a year to begin laying. We chose silver laces but I imagine only 4of the seven we got will be breed because I don't think the lacing on most is as "eye catching" as it should be. There's a few more experienced folks on here who know a good bit about fizzled.buff.candy corn&can give you better advice then me about what's prettiest to mix¬ mix. Good luck!
Yep. Seems they take forever to figure out the sex compared to other breeds. Frizzles making it even harder but comparing to pictures of adult frizzle polish hens my frizzle has got to be a Roo going by the saddle feathers(hackles are also very obvious now that I've compared to other pictures) but at 6 mths he isn't even acting like one. Not a single even pitiful crow yet.Been 'told' a rounded crest is usually a hen and a messy ones a roo. I should know in another two weeks ha so I'll be waiting right with you!
