Name ideas? 😏
IMG_20211026_114442050_HDR.jpg

I have been known to pick a completely different name after I get a lot of suggestions so don't feel bad if yours doesn't get picked 😂

Oh my gosh. 😍 Why do polish lay with their heads buried? Mine did that and they roost with their head down. They are so weird, but cute.
I'm thinking if building mine their own pen and adding a few more. 😁
I thought that was just a random quirk of my silly girl! Do yours do the full pancake, wings spread out? She's mostly grown out of the pancake (at 5 weeks now) but still does the ridiculous head hang or bury.

The poofs on their tiny heads are so stinking cute!
The females have poufs on the front on their heads close to the beak and the males have poufs that are further back on the head. I'm hoping my two are female. I suspect the breeder put older chicks in with newer babies because my gold-laced is twice the size. It could be than I got a bantam white crested black though. Those poufs are like itty bitty cottonballs!

Well, I have 5 new and sort of new babies. Supposedly, the golden-laced and white crested black Polish are the same age. I don't believe it for a minute unless the black one is a bantam. They're approximately March 15th hatches. Then today I got a blue Silkie, a buff Silkie, and a bantam white frizzle. Then supposedly hatched April 1st. I also have 2 black Silkies, a splash Silkie, a white Silky, a bantam Mottled Cochin, and a bantam Steele Egger. They range in age from 3 years to 20 months. Now, according to my chicken math 9 are bantams, which equals ~2.5 chickens plus the black Polish is probably a bantam, so we'll round up to 3 chickens and the gold-laced is larger, so we'll make it 4 chickens total!
