Politically exhausted.

Tired of ads, thats why I chose not to engage in TV anymore. I will pray for more chocolate milk ads for you!

Precisely my dear... which is why the 2 party system needs to go... all it does is end up in stalemates and backroom deals... harder to do that if neither side controls a full half (majority) don'tcha think? Get enough Other Candidates elected to where the R&D had to write bills that MAKE SENSE in order to get those votes/get them passed. Worth a shot anyways. This alternating one side in control crap just is NOT working.

Debi I so hear you. Between the BS on the TV and the cost of the crap, I just killed our dish network. Frankly, there was nothing on there worth watching nor worth paying $70+ a month for. We have not missed it a single second since August 3rd either. We have tons of movies here and we can check them out from library if we want to, but we enjoy listening to audio books while we are doing other things...we read a lot. I think I am averaging a novel every day and a half - 2 days.

Last month I took Cheyenne to the drive-in for the first time in her life. A night at the movies would general cost us around $30 to see one movie, get drinks and munchies and etc. She and I packed a cooler with sandwiches, fruit, drinks and such and saw 2 movies for $12. We watched Eclipse and the new Tom Cruise movie. I just refuse to sit around the house and be annoyed with political BS on the TV and the other general unhappy cruel news.

I don't watch TV, but I listen to the radio....a lot. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE voting season. I listen to the radio for music, and understand ads are necessary for the station, but NOT the nonstop run of political ads. Gah.

If my mind is made up, I ignore the ads; if not, sometimes I pay a little attention. What I am finding is that the endorcements are really swaying my vote--AWAY from the person being endorced in most cases

So I find them quite helpful

What I absolutely cannot stand is all the phone calls. Dozens per day. And 80% are listed as "pirvate" or "out of area." I think that if political phone calls aren't prohibited by Do Not Call, they should have to identify themselves, at least as a political call if not by candidate.

No TV here and enjoying it. I got tired of paying for TV, to have companies bombard me with ad's. The next are going to be the mailings, from the mailbox to the trash, to the land fill.

I would cut it off, but for the baseball season and Encore Westerns. We can't live without John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Paul Newman.

We cut T.V. a long time ago. You can see things over the computer with less ads. Also, for the westerns, you can order Netflix and watch them to your hearts content.

I remember being so thrilled when we first got cable TV, years ago in another non-retirement life. Now it's boring; all those channels and so little worth watching. There are a couple of show we record and watch when we want to, so we can skip the commercials. There are better things to do with life than staring at the "idiot box" for hours!

I keep a list by the phone you robo call me you go on the naughty list. If you in person call me I'll listen doesn't mean you will get my vote but better than the naughty list. the list goes with me to the polls.
